Eight through Twelve Year Olds

The lower division features three levels of instruction for students ages eight through twelve. Advancement through the Lower Division is based on a student's level of skill and accomplishment, not his or her age. The School's faculty evaluates and and places each student in the appropriate level.

Students in the Lower Division attend classes that incorporate barre and center work twice weekly and have the option of attending character dance, jazz, and musical theater classes.

Please note:  NEW LEOTARD COLOR!!   Students in Lower III will wear Burgundy leotards this year.

 

 

 

Dress Code

Lower Level Girls: (Ballet)

* Lower I and II:  Teal short sleeved, scoop neck leotard
* Lower III:  Burgundy short sleeved, scoop neck leotard **NEW COLOR THIS YEAR!
* Pink dance tights and pink ballet shoes

Boys: (Ballet)
* Black ballet shoes (All Levels)
* White Socks
* White fitted t-shirt (All Levels)
* Black knit shorts or black dance tights

Jazz & Theatre Dance
* Any color leotard, tights, unitard or T-Shirt and Jazz pants
(Theatre Dance students wear red, white, and black only)
* Black jazz shoes for all.

Character Dance:
* Ballet class attire for boys and girls
* Black, knee length, circle skirt (not wrap around chiffon) for girls.
* Black jazz shoes for all (girls may wear black, 1-inch, character shoes if they would like)

Additional Information
1. No split sole or canvas ballet shoes, leather only. No varied necklines, strings, halters, or low backs.
2. No skirts, sweats, warmers, jewelry, or watches.
3. Hair should be pulled back neatly from the face in a ballet bun or ponytail.
4. No rolled up tights in Ballet classes.
